Google Helping Out During Coronavirus Outbreak with Google MEET Upgrade

Starting this week, Google will start opening up free access to advance Hangouts MEET video-conferencing capabilities to all G Suite and G Suite for Education clients. The features, normally reserved for the Enterprise Edition of G Suite, include;

  • Hosting meetings as large as 250 participants per call
  • Live stream your MEET to up to 100,000 viewers within a domain
  • The ability to record MEETs. Saved recording go into your Google Drive

Google writes, “We’re committed to supporting our users and customers during this challenging time, and are continuing to scale our infrastructure to support greater Hangouts Meet demand, ensuring streamlined, reliable access to the service throughout this period.”
